About
Allison Leigh is an American journalist, poet, editor, publisher, author, and artist.
She leads the independent studio A Leigh, offering creative services to writers, literary fiction and nonfiction publishers, and scholars of the humanities and social sciences.
Her revolutionary debut literary work Pleasure Business soft-launched in 2023 as a genre-bending, meta-morphing, heart-racing wild ride into coded depths only she could fathom.
Winner of an Academy of American Poets Prize, Allison has written poems published in print and digitally internationally, performed voiceover work for videos and commercials, and interviewed authors of poetry and fiction for the Michigan Quarterly Review blog.
She earned an honors BA in English language and literature with a minor in film at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2011 and in 2023 an MFA in creative writing at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, culminating in the making of a full-length hybrid book of original poems and an academic thesis about poetry called Levity.
Her professional experience includes 17 years of award-winning work advancing creativity in public education, academic and library publishing, literary and independent publishing, scholarly and corporate communications, customer service, community outreach and development, arts administration and organization, social media marketing strategy and content creation, photography and videography, graphic design and advertising, television and news broadcasting, journalism, writing and editing, entrepreneurship, and more.
